Khadi, or hand spun and hand woven Indian cotton fabric, became the weapon of the non-violent Indian population against their colonial rulers. Khadi is made by hand in homes in Indian villages, using a cotton yarn spun on a wheel, or "charkha".Khadi is a weaving style that employs resist dyeing technique to impart colors to the yarns before their interlacement. The fabric woven in this technique shows a feathered and hazy pattern which is a wonderful classic in its own way.
